This was the best “Baseball” game of the season. Both teams played solid baseball. The pitching was strong. There was lots of drama, and the right team won. Jason Schneider pitched a strong game well into the 6th inning. With the score 4-3 and one out Pingry loaded the bases on two singles and a walk. Tim Colao was brought on in relief. The next batter hit a drive to center. Matt Murdock made a running catch and rifled the ball in and prevented the runner on 3rd from scoring. The next batter would also fly out to center and the threat was ended. Colao wound up striking out the side in the 7th to preserve Summit’s 4-3 lead.

Summit picked up 2 runs in the 2nd inning when Andrew Miller was walked, Grant Douglas singled, Kyle Kanaley doubled to drive in Miller and Douglas scored on Colao’s sacrifice fly. Summit added two more in the 5th. Schnieder led off with a double and Matt Moremile singled. Murdock singled to score Schneider and Will Schaffer’s single scored Moremile.
