In past years when Summit met Roselle Catholic it often ended by the Mercy Rule. This year has been a different story. In fact, going into the bottom of the 6th it was a 4-2 game. Summit came through with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to put the game away. Ben Lim pitched the first 7 inning complete game of the season. He allowed only 3 hits and didn’t walk anyone.
Summit picked up 2 runs in the 1st on a walk to Matt Murdock, a double by Robby Faris , a sacrifice fly by Will Schaffer and an infield ground ball by Grant Douglas. Summit added 2 unearned runs on three consecutive Roselle Catholic infield errors and a single by Tim Colao. Summit’s final 3 runs came in the 6th. Colao drew a walk and was followed by three consecutive singles by Murdock, Farris and Schaffer.
