By all rights this should have been a fine pitcher’s duel but Summit kept finding ways to lose the game. Of Union’s 5 runs only 2 were earned. The other three resulted from throwing errors and sloppy play. Will Schaffer looked good on the mound allowing only 1 earned run, 3 hits and six strikeouts over 4 innings. Tim Colao also gave up only 1 earned run over two innings.

Summit’s two runs came in the 4th and resulted from a Kyle Kanaley single, a walk to Andrew Miller and a 2 rbi single by Alex Crane
