Millburn and Summit entered the game with almost identical records, but Millburn had something Summit lacked, a 6'7' center. His presence caused Summit players to repeatedly alter what in other games would have be a normal lay up. Add to that, Summit had an off day from 3 point land, hitting on only 1 for 15 tries.
In spite all the shooting issues. It was a very exciting, hard fought game. Millburn surged to an early lead, but 6 points from Alex Dadourian helped Summit get to within 1 point at the end od the 1st quarter. A low scoring 2nd quarter found Summit ahead 19-18 at the half. Millburn came on strong in the 3rd quarter and raced to a a 6 point lead going into the 4th quarter.
Summit upped the defensive pressure and slowly closed the gap. With under 30 seconds left in the game Summit was within points and had the ball. However a good 3-point try wouln’t go down and the game went to Millburn.
Will Schaffer was the only Hilltopper in double digits with 11 points. Millburn’s height allowed them to get most of the rebounds. Chip Roriston was Summit’s highest with only 4 rebounds
