It is always tense when Summit meets New Providence. Tension showed as both teams were shaky at the beginning with Summit taking a 9-4 lead. Things improved a bit in the 2nd quarter, behind 8 points from Will Schaffer, and the half ended with Summit up by 7. New Providence and Summit battled almost even in the 3rd quarter, as a result Summit entered the final 8 minuts with an eight point lead. Twice this young season Summit had blown a good lead in the fourth and lost, so the fans were nervous. Down the stretch Wayne White nailed 4 consecutive free throws to help secure the win. Michael Kaelin nailed 6 of his 13 points and Schaffer added three of his game high 15 points in the final quarter, and Summit pulled away. |
