Summit traveled to arch rival New Providence’s gym and really turned up the heat. Their defensive pressure and good shooting allowed Summit to roll to a 21-3 first quarter lead. Seven points each from Gary West and Will Schaffer, Michael Kaelin’s 4 points and a 3 pointer by Paul Flanagan porvided the points. The pressure defense allowed only one Pioneer basket in the quarter.
While New Providence regained it’s composure a bit after the 1st quarter, Summit grew the lead to 22 points going into the 4th quarter.
Summit took advantage of a very balanced offence with four players in double digits and 11 players delivering points. Chip Roriston led with 12 points and Schaffer, Kaelin and West each adding 10 points. Kaelin led the rebounding with eight.
