Summit hosted Voorhees in the 1st round of the State Tournament. Voorhees had been defeated by the handily by 15 points during the regular season, so hopes were high. Summit eked out a 9-8 lead in the first quarter with the help of 7 points from Gary West. Summit came off the rails in the 2nd quarter. The Vikings completely out played the Hilltoppers. The only bright spot was a pair of 3's from Xavier McCormick. When time ran out at the half Summit trailed by 10 points.

The hole got even deeper in 3rd quarter. Summit’s inside game was almost non existent as all but 2 points were 3-pointers. Two by Will Schaffer and two by West. As a result Voorhees added another 3 points to their lead (44-31). Things looked very bleak for Summit. However, Chip Roriston revived Summit with a stream of points and rebounds. Wayne White nailed a pair of 3-pointers and McCormick added his 3rd trey of the game. With 40 seconds left, Summit miraculously closed the gap to one point and the Summit fans were in a frenzy. Sadly, Voorhees connected on all their free throws down the stretch and the season ended for Summit.

Roriston scored 13 points in that final quarter comeback and led the defense with 10 rebounds. West was the leading scorer with 15 points.

Season ending notes: Will Schaffer led the season scoring with 285 points and rebounds with 116. However Summit was very deep as 7 different players scored more than 126 points. Schaffer led in 3-pointers with 22. Xavier McCormick was close behind with 20 3-pointers and a team leading 3-point shooting of 58.8%
