Summit and Gov. Livingston traded touchdowns until late in the 3rd quarter. Summit was never behind up to then. With 2:20 left on the 3rd quarter clock Gov. Livingston executed a 48 yard run that put them ahead 21-14. Early in the 4th quarter Summit got a break when GL fumbled and Summit got the ball on the GL 33 yard line. On 3rd down Jackson Tyler hit DL Jackson for an 18 yard touchdown. Summit fans held their breath, but kick went wide and Summit was still behind 21-20.

GL took the kick off and set out to use up the clock. They were forced to punt and Summit got the ball back at their own 17 yard line with less than 4 minutes on the clock and one last chance to win. An interference call moved the ball to the 32. Runs by21161 and Matt Murdock, combined with a GL 5 yd penalty, gave Summit a first down at the GL 40. A pass to Jack Washburn got to the 31, but was offset when a fumble moved it back to the 41. Facing a 4th down and a clock running out, Tyler connected with DJ Jackson at the 5. With one minute left, Sam Zanelli covered the last five yards to put Summit on 28-21. GL’s final minute ended when Luca Curran made second interception of the game. Wow what a finish.
