Summit started the game with highly regarded Immaculata without starting QB, Jake Froschauer. Summit took advantage of 4 turnovers and a very strong Summit defense against the ground game for the victory. Summit stifled Immaculata in the 1st half, allowing them only 1 first down. While a TD by Matt Murdock and an PAT and a 42 yd FG by Jack Johnson staked Summit to a 10-0 lead.
However, Immaculata put some fear into the Summit faithful by scoring early on a 49 yard run early in the 2nd half. However, Murdock put things right with by busting an 80 yard run to give Summit a 17-6 lead. Late in the quarter Johnson added a 35 yard FG and Summit us up20-6. Immaculata pretty much abandoned the running game in the second half but fumbles and an interception thwarted their efforts.
Johnson put the game out of reach with a 25 yard FG early in the final quarter and a TD pass from Jackson Tyler to Murdock was the icing on the cake.
Note: Jack Johnson set new Summit record for Place-Kicking points in a game with 12.
