Chatham (4-1) was a heavy favorite going into the game. They had handily defeated four consecutive teams after a season opening loose to Delbarton. The Cougars out scored Summit in every quarter. Inspite of that, Summit rallied to get within 5 points early in the 4th quarter.

Will Schaffer led Summit with a dozen points and a similar number of rebounds. Freshman Will Hellings scored 8 points.
