Dayton started fast and Summit was plagued with turnovers. The result was a 20-7 Dayton lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Summit spent the rest of the game trying to close that 13 point deficit. By the end of the 3rd quarter Summit had closed to within one point (42-41). The charge was led by 12 points by Will Schaffer, 10 points by Malcolm Sidebottom and 10 points by Chip Roriston. With 3 minutes left in the game Summit finally led 47-46. Sadly, a barrage of 3-pointers by Dayton helped them regain the lead. Summit had one last chance when Dayton missed a free throw with 8.3 seconds left but couldn’t get a 3 point try to go in.
Schaffer led the scoring with 19 points and Sidebottom had 17 points, Roriston was in double digits with 10 points and also contributed a game high 9 rebounds.
