Gov. Livingston jumped to a 7-0 lead in the first few minutes of the game but Summit rallied to close the gap to 10-9 by the end of the 1st quarter. Over the next two quarters Summit turned up the defensive pressure, forcing many turnovers. As a result they pulled away to a 39-28 advantage entering the 4th quarter. GL, who hadn’t scored a 3-pointer in the game, suddenly got hot with a pair of treys and a FG to close the gap to 3 points (49-46) with 2 minutes left. After a time out, Summit out scored GL 9-2 down the final stretch.
Will Schaffer was the leading scorer with 18 points. Malcolm Sidebottom contributed 15 point, including two key 3-pointers in the 4th quarter. Chip Roriston and Finbar McCormick were both in double digits with 10 points. Roriston hauled in 9 rebounds.
Note: Summit struggled from 3-point land, scoring only 7 of 27 attempts.
