Hillside came to Summit with a record that was almost identical with the Hilltoppers at 2-4. It figured to be close and it was. Summit took a 18-17 lead into half time. It was 33-31 entering the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter was a low scoring 8 minutes with both teams adding only 5 points.
It was a game of contrasts. Malcom Sidebottom drained five 3-pointers to lead Summit’s scoring with 15 points. Hillside didn’t score any 3-pointers. Summit scored only 6 points at the free throw line compared with 14 by Hillside. In fact, the Summit fans were very upset when almost all the fowl calls went Hillside’s way.
Thirty three of Summit’s 38 points were concentrated in three players, Sidebottom with 15, Will Schaffer with 12 and Chip Roriston with 6.
