Rahway 18 4 21 23 66
Summit’s first meeting with Rahway, their toughest Conference opponent, got off to a terrible start. Rahway, made it clear that they had some real shooters. The Indians ran up an 18-6 lead in the first eight minutes. They were helped by mediocre shooting by Summit.

The outlook was bleak. Wholesale substitution beginning the 2nd quarter and Eric Baier’s 3-pointer got things started. The starting 5 took over and Summit out scored Rahway 12-4, with the help of a more aggressive defense. So Summit headed to the locker having closed the gap to 22-18.

However, turnovers by Summit and good shooting by Rahway dug a hole too deep to get out of. Jackson Tyler’s 8 points in the 3rd quarter wasn’t enough tp keep Summit in the game. The final quarter was dominated by Rahway’s shooting, as Summit continued to suffer turnovers. .

Chip Roriston led the Summit scoring with 13 points and Tyler was in double digits with 10 points. As is so often the case, Will Schaffer led the rebounding with 9.
