Rahway opened a 10 point lead in the 2nd quarter, but Summit fought back to make the score 25-23 with two minutes left in the first half. Sadly, Rahway continued to hit their 3's and they pulled away to a 9 point half time lead. The 3rd quarter was all Rahway an they entered the final quarter with an 18 point advantage.

However, Summit didn’t fold. Led by Summit’s three graduating seniors they cut the lead to 10 points.with 3 minutes left It might have been cut to 7 points but for the fact that a 3 point try was deflected by a low hanging practice backboard that hadn’t been fully pulled up. On the next Summit possession the same thing happened on another 3-point try. That was as close as Summit would get.

Summit lost by 11 points, but they have every reason to be proud of the game Summit played. The three graduating Seniors ended their Summit basketball careers with a great effort. Between the three they scored 47 of Summit’s 60 points. Chip Roriston led Summit with 24 points. Will Schaffer had 16 points and 7 rebounds and Jack Washburn added 7 points, all in that 4th quarter drive.

Schaffer ended season with 350 points and 131 rebounds. Roriston ended with 322 points and 126 rebounds. They all will be sorely missed.

Schaffer’s Summit varsity career ended with 881 points.
