Summit traveled Scotch Plains with a couple of problems. Scotch Plains had a 14-1 record and Summit was without the 2 leading scorers, Chip Roriston (cut on his hand) and Will Schaffer (concussion). The two have combined to average 28.4 per game. To make matters even worse Summit had lost to Scotch Plains by 21 point in their first meeting at Summit.
As could be expected Summit had to depend heavily 3 Juniors, 3 Sophomores and 3 Freshmen. The game played out about as you might expect. Summit was out scored in each quarter and Summit lost by 25 points.
Finbar McCormick led the Summit scoring with 11 points. David Axtell garnered 7 rebounds
Note: Thanks to Grand father McCormick for helping with the stats while the Gibsons are on vacation.
