This game started well with Summit taking a 15-11 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Summit was powered by 12 points from Will Schaffer. In the 2nd quarter Morris Knolls turned up the defensive pressure and Summit had a meltdown with turnover after turnover. At the end of the quarter Morris Knolls was on top 34-29. All the Summit scoring was provided by Schaffer (6 free throws) and Chip Roiston (8 points).
The turnovers continued in the 3rd quarter and Morris Knolls finished the quarter with a 50-41 advantage. The game brightened in the 4th as Summit went on an 11-5 run to get within 3 points. But that was as close as the Hilltoppers would get.
The scoring was led by Schaffer (18 points) and Roiston (17 points). Other scoring was: Washburn (6), McCormick (5), Tyler (4).
