What a pleasure it is to watch a game in Yogi Berra Stadium. Comfortable seats and no chain fence blocking your vision and making it easy to track the trajectory of each ball. Summit had lost the last two games against Parsippany, so it was Summit’s time..
Parsippany struck first with 2 unearned runs via two wqlks, a single and a Summit error. But Summit bounced back in the 5th with 2 unearned runs of its own. Singles by Weiss and Hellings got it started. A Parsippany error and a scrifice fly by Reddy scored 2 runs and tied the game. Summit scored the winning run in the 6th. Mutolo singled to start inning and got to 2nd on a error. He moved to 3rd on a ground out and scored on Competiello sacrifice fly.
Cusumano came on in relief and staved off eruptions in the 6th and 7th innings and managed to get by without allowing any runs.
A lovely night for baseball!
