Summit traveled to Rahway for a key game if the Hilltoppers had any hope of getting seeded in the top half of the tournament bracket. Each team had two loses and comparable records against common foes. However, Rahway had a very impressive win against Somerville which Summit has yet to play.

Summit took the opening kickoff and scored in six plays. The score was set up by a 33yd pass from from Sklyer Schulter to Steve Sajer. Jackson Tyler covered the last 8 yards for the first of his four touchdowns. On Summit’s second possession Schulter connected with Tyler on a 31 yard pass play that staked Summit to a 13-0 lead mid way through the 1st quarter. Rahway got their only score of the half on a 31 yd pass, but Summit answered when Tyler scored in the 2nd quarter to end the half with a 20–7 lead.

Summit score on its first possession of the 2nd half. The drive was highlighted by a 31 run by Max Jackson and an 8 yard scoring run by Tyler. Luca Curran drove a nail in Rahway’s coffin when he intercepted a Rahway pass and returned it 26 yards for a TD. That really put the game out of reach at 34-7.

The Summit defense deserves special credit, they completely stopped Rahway’s running game and disrupted their passing with heavy pressure resulting in 3 sacks, and an interception.
