Warren Hills 7 0 6 7 20

What looked so promising early in 3rd quarter suddenly turned ugly. Summit had taken a 17-7 lead on a 33yard TD run by Max Jackson and Will Goldy had kicked the extra point. Summit had taken control and was dominating Warren Hills. Summit decided to surprise Warren Hills and try an on-side kickoff. That backfired when Warren Hills scooped up the ball and raced 55 yards to score. The extra point kick failed, but Summit’s lead was cut to 17-13.

However, Summit continued to dominate play and Warren Hills was forced to go three and out in their next three possessions. On each of Summit's next three possessions a touchdown run was called back on a penalty. But, Summit was clearly in control.

After Warrens third possession Summit took the ball on the Summit 21 with only a few minutes remaining in game. On 3rd and 7 Jackson Tyler gained 7 for what appeared to be a first down at the 31, but a measurement show it was inches short. With only a couple minutes left, the decision was made to go for the 1st down at Summit’s 31, rather than punt the ball. That turned out to be fatal. Summit failed to make the first down and Warren Hills gained possion at Summit’s 30 with about 2 minutes remaining. Using time outs and the out of bounds Warren Hill arrived at 4th down at the Summit 3 yard line with 11 seconds left in the game. They score to take the lead with only 7 second remaing.

Summit took the kick off, threw a pass that got to the Warren 26 with 3 second on the clock. A 15 yard penalty agaist werren Hills gave Goldy a shot at a field goal to send the game to overtime. It looked to be good, but was inches wide.

A very sad end.
