Summit’s roster is unusual in that there are no seniors, only Juniors and Sophomores. The opener against Cranford turned out to be a surprisingly easy victory. Malcom Sidebottom got off to a fast start with 11 points in the first quarter and led Summit to an 18-9 lead. Cranford rallied to close to within a point before the Hilltoppers pulled away to lead 30-25 at the half .
Starting the 2nd half Summit realy turned up the defensive heat and Cranford collapsed, scoring only 13 point in the final two quarters. Jackson Tyler caught fire and scored 19 points in the 2nd half. as Summit overwhelmed Cranford.
Note: Summit was strong at the free throw line, hitting their first 13 attempts. Dom Yorio and Sidebottom led the rebounding with 6 each.
