The last two games have gone down to the wire. In both games Malcolm Sidebottom played a key role in the victory. The final quarter began with Johnson ahead 56-55. Summit was hot early on in the quarter and led 63-56. However, strong 3-point shooting and 11 of 12 free throws gave Johnson a a 76-74 lead with 2.7 seconds left. Summit was in bounding the ball at the Summit end of the court. Sidebottom positioned himself in the far corner. The ball was in bounded to Finbar who flipped it to Sidebottom who drained a three as the buzzer went off.
Wow, what a finish. Sidebottom, in addition to the winning shot, hit on seven other 3 pointers to tie his personal record of 8 treys in a single game, set in the Roselle game.
Notes: Sidebottom led all the scorer’s with 25 points. Eric Baier had a hugh game with 21 points. Dom Yorio had 14 point and a great game on defense with 14 rebounds
