A game against New Providence is always a big game. This year both teams had strong record, Summit was 9-2 and New Providence 10-1 and included a 10 point win against Chatham. NP had the upper hand in the 1st quarter and took a 16-12 lead. Summit came back in the 2nd quarter, led by six points by both Finbar McCormick and Dom Yorio. McCormick included the first of his 5 three pointers. The half ended with Summit on top 32-24.
The 2nd half featured 4 more treys by McCormick and a pair by Malcolm Sidebottom. New Providence closed to 3 points with 3 minutes left in the game but Summit dominated the the final minutes to win by eight.
Notes: McCormick had season best offensive game, hitting on 5 of his 8 three pointers and 18 total points. Summit had 3 others scoring in double digits; Sidebottom with17 points, Yorio with 11 points and Eric Baier with 10 points. Yorio also had 6 rebounds.
