The last time Summit defeated Rahway at Rahway was 7 years ago. Each year it is the same story - TURNOVERS. There is just something about their gym and their quickness. It looked like it might be a repeat when Summit committed 6 turnovers in the first quarter. Good shooting by Dom Yorio (7 points) and Joe Lusardi (4 points) kept Summit close at 17-13. The Summit offense stabilized in the 2nd quarter. Led by Malcolm Sidebottom’s 5 points and tight defense it ended the half ahead 28-27.
The 3rd quarter was close but Rahwayfinished ahead 40-39. The 4th turned out to all Rahway as 5 turnovers led to 10 points. Rahway pressure held Summit to 5 points and the Rahway quickness did Summit in. Maybe next year!
Notes: Sidebottom led Summit with 10 points and 6 rebounds
