| Summit’s regular season came to a wild end against one of Summit’s biggest rivals. Summit was successful in limiting Rahway’s fast break game to a half court offense in the first half. That, coupled with Malcolm Shipbottom’s 13 first half points, allowed Summit to gain a 20-17 lead at the half.
Summit's defense continued to hold the Rahway offense to 7 points in the 3rd quarter. Summit entered the 4th quarter with a 28-24 advantage. However,early in the final quarter Summit turned the ball on 3 consecutive possessions, leading to Rahway taking 36-31. Summit fought back to tie the game and send it tto overtime. Summit fell behind 53-50 with only seconds left. Sidebottom tied the score with a 3 pointer. In the 2nd OT Rahway opened a 60-54 lead That Summit couldn’t close.
Sidebottom continued his strong play with 29 points. Sophomores Eric Baier and Joe Lusardi were both in double digits with 14 points each. Dom Yorio was big under the backboards, hauling in 11 rebounds.
