Doubles: Murtolo(1),Competiello(1)
|
Summit took on an old foe from the Iron Hills Conference, back in the day when we had a real conference for all sports. As was so often the case in those days, Summit wound up on the short end .
Summit tied the score at 1-1 in the top of the 2nd inning. Carlson was walked, Competiello singled and Britt singled to tie the score.
Summit took a 2-1 lead in the top of the 3rd . Israllowitz got on base via an error. Another error moved him to 2nd and a wild pitch got him to 3rd. He scored on a fly ball by Mutolo. The lead was short lived because Hanover Park scored twice in the bottom of the 3rd.
Summit added 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning. Carlson started the inning via an error. Competiello followed with a double, scoring Carlson. Britt followed with a single to score Competiello. Britt stole 2nd and moved to 3rd on a wild pitch. He came home on an infield out. So Summit went into the 5th leading 5-3.
Boburka took over the mound in the 5th. The leadoff hitter was on via an error, four singles and a sacrifice bunt allowed Hanover Park to take a 6-5 lead. That was the way the game ended.
