Summit hosted Johnson on a windy day. Reddy took the mound and got into early trouble. He walked the first two batters, the next batter doubled scoring one runner. An infield out drove in the second runner. In the third inning Johnson jumped on Reddy for four more runs and Summit got a run back when Reddy hit a two out single, went to 2nd on a wild pitch, and was driven in by an Israllowitz single.

The score stayed 6-1 until the bottom of the 5th when Summit added 2 runs. Competiello singled and Engmann was walked. They both score on singles by Israllowitz and Mutolo. That left the score 6-3 with 2 innings left.

In the 6th Hellings was safe on an error and scored later on a single by Carlson. That cut Johnson’s lead to to 2 with one more inning left. Boburka replaced Reddy on the mound for the 7th inning and held Johnson scoreless on one hit.

So Summit came to bat in the 7th needing 3 runs to win the game. Israllowitz led off with a single, and stole 2nd . Mutolo got on by an error and both runners scored off a single by Weiss. That tied the game at 6 runs with no outs and a runner on base. Hellings drew a walk.as did Carlson. The bases were now loaded WITH NO OUTS. A long flyball and gameover. Unfortunately, the next batter hit back to piicher who threw to the catcher who threw to 1st for a double play. This was followed by a strikeout.

Johnson put the game away in the eight..
