Summit went to New Providence to take on the highly regarded Pioneers. Summit’s best pitcher from last season, Alex Boburka. took the mound. Everything NP tried worked and before the inning was over NP led 7-0.
Boburka threw 32 pitchs in the 1st inning, but came back for the the 2nd inning. What a turnaround! Boburka pitched masterfully over the final 5 innings, requiring only an average of 10 pitches per inning and blanking New Providence.
Summit would get one run in the 3rd inning when Tarashuk got on base via an error and scored Reddy’s single.
