Hellings started on the mound for the Hilltopper. Summit took command in their first inning, combining 3 hits, 2 walks and a hit batter to build a 4-0 lead. Whippany got one back in he bottom of the first. Summit burried Whippany with 2 runs in the 4th and one run in each of the next three innings to build a 9-1 lead.

Hellings allowed only that one run in the 6 innings he worked before turning the mound over to Tarashuk. Tarashuk struggled with the top of Whippay’s batting, but settled down and got the next three batters on an infield out and 2 strikeout.

Summit is now 7-2 and will take od Gov. Livingston on Monday at Home.
