| Summit traveled to Cranford as the favorite, but everything that could go wrong, did. Cranford's defensive line was surprisingly strong and held Summit 131 rushing yards and forced three fumble-turnovers on drives that appeared headed for Touchdowns. Inspite of those problems Summit held a 12-10 lead going into the 4th quarter. Summit had the ball at the Cranford 17 yardline when a fumble turned the ball over to Cranford. On the 2nd play Cranford broke louse on 68 yard run the ended on Summit 10, by an heroic tackle. Sadly, two plays later Cranford was in the end zone with an 18-12 lead Summit had three more posession. The final drive ended on the Crandford 20. To add insult to injury, Cranford busted a 70 yard TD run to end the game. Note: Summit has failed to have a successful extra point, mostly 2 point trys, in the last 8 touchdowns. |
