This was a game everyone was looking forward to. New Providence was 15-2 and Summit was 14-3. The one loss difference was a convincing NP win over Rahway, where as Summit had lost a 4th quarter lead to the Indians. The game was great basketball but NP grabbed a 16-7 lead in the 1st quarter and never gave it up. Summit would close the gap at times but ultimately was hurt a bad free throw performance , 3 of 9, compared to 10 of 14 by New Providence. Summit also suffered from outside, connecting on only 7 of 22 three pointer attemps.
Malcolm Sidebottom (18 points) and Will Hellings (12 points) led the Summit scoring
