Jessica Penner hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 27 seconds left to lift eighth-seeded Summit over ninth-seeded New Providence 27-24 in the first round of the Union County Tournament in Summit.

Down 22-17 after the third quarter, Summit (13-7) held New Providence to two points in the final quarter. Penner had seven total points and three steals while Annabella Yorio paced Summit with nine points. Annabellla Yorio led Summit with 9 points

Summit advances to the quarterfinals, where it will play top-seeded Patrick School who defeated Scotch Plains 75-14 on Feb. 15.
