Summit took on Oratory at Summit, still smarting from the last second 3 pointer that defeated Summit. The 2nd meeting was just as wild as the first. Oratory started strong and racked up a 19-10 1st quarter lead. However, things turned completely in the 2nd quarter. Eric Baier scored 12 points and the rest of squad added 12 points. Meanwhile the defense held Oratory to 8 points. Summit headed to half time with a 35-27 .
The second half added six more points to the lead and gave the Summit fans with a comfortable 51-37 lead with 8 minute left. But wait, haven’t we been here before with Oratory? Oratory kept chipping away and with 55 seconds remaining the lead was 2 points. Will Hellings drained 2 free throws to put the game out of reach.
It should be noted that Hellings scored all 10 of Summit’s points in the 4th Quarter.
