This was a very tough one to lose. Summit battled back from a 2 run deficit with a 3 run homer by Jon Campagna only to see it slip through
our fingers in the bottom of the ninth. To make matters worse starting pitcher Jared Chellevold left the mound after 3 innings with a sore
shoulder. He was replaced by Brendan Reilly who started favoring his pitching shoulder after a couple on innings. He finished the game but
was obviously in some discomfort. We can only keep our fingers crossed that these difficulties aren't permanent. Summit picked up a run in the
1st with back-to-back singles by Luberto and Reilly and a sacrifice fly by Chellevold, but Dover tied it up on a homer by Franco in the 2nd. We
regained the lead in the 3rd when Luberto was walked. Reilly was hit by the pitcher,Chellevold bunted them to 2nd and 3rd and Bennett
brought Luberto home on a sacrifice fly. Dover picked up 2 unearned runs in the bottom of the 3rd when a dropped 3rd strike, that would have
been the 3rd out, kept the inning alive. Down 4-2 going into the 6th Joe Mormak led off with a single. A collision in center allowed Ben
Wheeless to get on base. Then Jon Campagna hit a towering HR over the right-center fence to put Summit on top, and we stayed there until
the bottom of the 7th. Things started well as Dover's first batter struck out. A walk to the 2nd batter opened the door. This was followed by a
single to put 2 on base. The next batter, Dover's pitcher Coutts, hit a hard shot to the short stop side of the mound. Unfortunately, the ball
caromed off Reilly and was deflected away from Lipsey into left field to tie the game. The winning run came in on a single by the next batter.
