Summit came up against one of the Iron Hills Conference's top pitchers in Morris Hills' Santucci. With a good Curve and a fastball in the upper
80 MPH he is a formidable force. Jared Chellevold pitched 4 1/3 innings, struck out 9 and allowed only 2 hits. Unfortunately, their two hits
came with 2 out, but after the bases had been loaded by 2 walks and a hit batter. Brendan Reilly pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and gave up 1
hit and 1 earned run. Summit out hit Morris Hills 5 to 3, but Santucci managed to scatter them over 7 innings. All-in-all, it was a better outing
than the score would indicate.
