Hanover Park's Atchison appears to have Summit's number. He didn't start this game, but the minute the starter Aiello showed signs of weakening in the 3rd inning, Atchison came in to finish the game. In spite of the fact that HP is barely playing .500 ball, they have beaten us twice in the last 5 days. During that time Summit has managed but a single run in the 14 innings. Jason Flores started for Summit but had to leave the game after two innings with back pains. Ben Wheeless came on to pitch the next 3 innings and Jon Campagna finished the final inning. We certainly can't fault the pitching as only one of HP's 3 runs was earned. Summit was just unable to muster any offense against the HP pitchers. Unfortunately Summit committed 4 errors, 3 of which contributed directly to HP's unearned runs. HP's one earned run occurred on a deep fly ball to left that bounced off the tip of Duane Dates' glove and fell over the fence for a home run.
