Summit stretched its winning streak to 8. Scott Croswell got the starting assignment, struggled early but settled down and allowed only 7 hits
during the 6 1/3 innings he pitched. Jon Campagna, "The Closer", came in, threw 4 pitches and recorded the final 2 outs. Mendham jumped to
a 2 run lead in the 1st and the Mendham starter, Barnes, looked very effective for the first two innings. But in the 3rd things changed. Five
consecutive singles by Josh Lipsey, Duane Dates , Fred Luberto, Brendan Reilly, and Jared Chellevold plus a booming triple by Joe
Mormak produced 5 runs. Summit added 3 more runs, all unearned, when Kyle Bennett singled, Mormak and Campagna walked and the
Mendham thirdbaseman commited errors on consecutive ground balls by Lipsey and Dates. Summit picked up 2 more unearned runs as
Lipsey walked with 2 out, a grounder by Dates was again booted by the thirdbaseman, and Luberto singled.
