This game needs to be quickly forgotten. Even though Summit out hit Hanover Park 8 to 7 the combination of bases on balls and four errors
allowed HP to score six runs to our one. HP got their 1st run in the 3rd on a single, two walks, and a sac fly. They picked up two unearned runs
in the 5th on two walks, a wild pitch, and three Summit errors. Meanwhile Summit had scattered 5 hits. HP certainly made the most of their hits.
Ben Wheeless allowed only 1 earned run on three hits through the first 6 innings and the game was still within reach. However, in the 7th HP
scored 3 more runs on 4 singles and iced the game. Summit averted its first shutout of the season with a mini-rally in the 7th when Josh Lipsey
and Duane Dates singled and Fred Luberto doubled, but that was all she wrote.
