Summit avenged an agonizing earlier loss to Dover as all the starters had at least one hit. Brendan Reilly pitched 4 fine innings giving up only
1 hit and 1 earned run. Jon Campagna pitched the 5th inning in relief and put Dover down 1-2-3. As it turned out, the 5th was the last inning
because of the 10 run rule. Summit jumped to a 2-1 lead in the 1st on a double by Jared Chellevold and singles by Kyle Bennett and Ben
Wheeless. Four more runs were added in the 2nd inning when Jon Campagna led off with a towering triple. This was followed by singles by
Josh Lipsey and Duane Dates. Fred Luberto's double and sacrifce flys by Chellevold and Bennett drove in the final 3 runs. Five runs were
scored in the 3rd as Campagna again led off the inning, this time with a walk. Singles by Luberto and Reilly were followed by a big triple by
Bennett that was mishandled by both the right and center fielders and allowed Bennett to come home. There was a lot of sentiment in the
stands to score the hit as a home run, but it stood as a triple. In the Summit 5th Luberto led off with a walk, was moved to third on a Reilly
single and scored on a single by Chellevold, ending the game.
