Another great win. Summit advanced to the Sectional finals in extra innings. Summit picked up an unearned run in the 1st when Fred Luberto got on via an error, stole second, advanced to 3rd on a ground ball and scored on another error. Summit made it 3-0 in the 3rd inning. Josh Lipsey led off with a single and went all the way to third when Chatham's 1st baseman dropped the throw on Duane Dates' ground ball. A single by Luberto drove in both runners. Unfortunately Chatham tied up the ball game in the 4th on a double, two singles, a walk, a hit batsman and a sacrifice fly. No further scoring occurred for the next four innings although Summit had runners in scoring position in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. In the last of the 9th Dates singled with 2 out and stole second to get into scoring position. Luberto then lofted a big fly ball to left field that would have been a triple except that the game was over when Dates crossed the plate with the winning run.

Brendan Reilly got the start and, except for the 4th inning had things well under control. In fact, after the fourth he seemed to get stronger with each passing inning. However, his pitch count reached 123 after the 8th inning and Jon Campagna came on in relief. He put Chatham down in order in the top of the 9th and got credit for the win when the winning run scored in the bottom of the 9th.
