Summit was looking to avenge their earlier loss to Dover, which many felt had been punctuated with some less than accurate refereeing. But things got off to a bad start when Dover jumped to a 5 point lead early. Summit got it back to 3 at the end of the 1st quarter and to 2 by the half. Eight points by Brian Rush helped keep the 1st half close. However, our hopes were dimmed as Dover moved to a 29-24 lead midway through the 3rd quarter. Then things turned around. Five points by John Brown, a big 3 by Matt Von Klemperer and 2 FG's by Duane Dates led Summit on a 12-0 run to put us up for good. Down the stretch 5 points from John Foushee and another 4 from Duane Dates helped to preserve the win. John Brown and Duane Dates led Summit with 10 points each.

JV Results.

This was a good Dover JV squad. It had previously beaten Summit 52-48. But tonight was a completely different story. Summit played a tough man-to-man defense and clearly dominated the game. If Dover harbored any hope it was dashed midway through the 2nd half when a pair of technicals were called on Dover under their basket. Ryan Carey stepped to the line and drained 4 free throws in a row. We scored on the out-of bounds and Dover was down for the count. Ted Schraft had the hot hand in the 2nd half scoring 12 of his game high 17 points. It was also his personal best. Carey and Forsyth finished with 12 and Campagna was also in double figures with 10 points.
