Summit really got off to a slow start as they were only able to muster 15 point in the 1st half. Fortunately, some very strong defense kept Hanover Park to only 18. A key element in holding things close was some great defensive play by Kai Donaldson as he rejected shot after shot. And when he wasn't rejecting shots he was pulling down rebounds. A different team showed up for the 2nd half as we ran off 20 points in the 3rd quarter as John Foushee hit for 10 of the 20 points and Kai Donaldson added 4 more, one of which was a dramatic slam dunk that brought the large crowd to it's feet. That gave Summit an 8 point lead. In the 4th HP closed to within 4 points, but Summit managed to sink 8 of 14 free throws down the stretch. In the closing minutes HP went to a hard press and Brian Rush broke open for another slam dunk. That pretty much put it out of reach. John Foushee led the scoring with 22 point and Brian Rush had 12. Duane Dates had 9 point and contributed some great defense and rebounding. There was some sad news. John Brown and Jeff Stewart have both been suspended from the team.

JV Results
Summit's JVs avenged an earlier loss to Hanover Park as they won 53-39. Summit jumped off to 20-8 lead in the first quarter largely on a 4-of-4 3-point shooting spree by Ted Schraft, Jason Holmes and Ryan Carey. HP got to within 8 entering the 4th quarter, but Summit widened the gap in the 4th. Summit played without its high scorer, Kurt Forsyth, who has been moved up to the varsity to help fill the gap left by the loss of Brown and Stewart.
