Summit's season ended sadly in the semi-finals of the Group 2 North Section 2. In large measure this was the result of Kristen Rossotti's fine play. Rissotti, Caldwell's 6'1" center, can do it all. She can shoot from the outside, the inside, or the foul line. She can rebound and pretty much dominated the boards at both end of the court. She is arguably the best player Summit has faced all season. For the night she had six 2-pointers, two 3-pointers, 13 of 19 from the foul line and 19, that's right 19, rebounds.

Things began well for Summit as Caldwell had a lot of trouble with the trapping Summit defense. For the first 3-4 minutes it hardly seemed that Caldwell could even get the ball over the centerline. Unfortunately, Summit wasn't able to turn these turnovers into points. Caldwell employed a zone defense throughout the game and Summit's outside shooting could never get on track. With Rissotti in the paint it was rare that Summit got a second chance basket. What's more it was difficult to drive to the hoop with her always lurking there. Summit's defense continued to force turnovers, but it also caused a lot of fouls. By the end of the game Erica Berger and Danielle Proper had fouled out and Odette Nemes and Stephanie Bruce had four fouls each. By game's end Caldwell had been to the line 32 times and picked up 18 points. By contrast Summit had 16 free throws and sank only 6. Erica Berger, in her final Summit game, Marissa Kellogg led Summit's scoring with 11 points each.

It was a sad end to very fine season.
