Summit got off to a great start, running off the first 14 points. During that spurt, great defense forced 6 Union turnovers and Summit sank 7 of 9 from the field. From that point on, Union played Summit fairly even and was behind 13 points entering the 4th quarter. Early in the 4th quarter Union went on a 10-3 run to pull within 6 points at 47-41. But that was the last point Union would score as Summit scored the last 7 points. The game might not have gotten so close if Summit had been able to sink more than 5 of its 14 free throws. Stephanie Bruce led Summit's scoring with 16 points while Marissa Kellogg was close behind with 14. Summit (the 6th seed) will play 3rd seeded Union Catholic on Thursday.
