Summit JV Game Writeups

4/1 - Delbarton - Tied 6-6 as darkness came before the end of the game. James Sivartsen started and pitched the entire game and did a fine job. Brad Olsen and Jeff Sparrow had big hits for Summit.

4/5 - Parsippany Hills- Won 17-7: Freshman Matt Williams came on to throw 3 innings of outstanding relief to save the win for Sophomore Rob Delgado. Additionally, Williams had a grand slam and 7 RBI's and James Sivartsen added 5 RBIs.

4/7 - Hanover Park - Lost 13-0: Summit errors cost them early as HP grabbed a 7-0 lead. Only 1 Summit batter reached base, a single by Jeff Sparrow in the second inning.

4/13 - Dover - Won 13-3: James Sivartsen tossed a commanding 4-hitter allowing only one earned run. Freshmen Ben Torres and Matt Williams keyed the attack offensively.

4/14 - Mt. Olive - Won 7-2: Matt Williams dominated, going the distance for Summit.

4/16 - West Essex - Summit was leading 3-2 when the game was called in the 4th due to heavy rain. Freshman Mike Mormak came on in relief of Rob Delgado and did a great job shutting down a potential WE rally. Kevin Ruck and Jeff Sparrow laid down beautiful suicide squeeze bunts to plate 2 of the 3 Summit runs.

4/19 - Parsippany - Won 10-1, James Sivartsen pitched a 3-hitter (no reaned runs) as Summit rolled past previously undefeated Parsippany Matt Williams smashed a bases loaded triple to account for three runs and Ben Torres had two run scoring hits.

4/21 - Morris Hills - Won 11-10 Mike Mormak came on in relief to register the win. Kevin Ruck, Ben Torres and Mike D'Ecclessis had key RBI base hits as Summit overcame a 6-4 deficit to take a 10-6 lead into the seventh inning. A couple of timely MH hits and 2 unearned runs brought MH to a 10-10 tie entering the bottom of the seventh. Rob Delgado led off the home half with a single and went to second on a bad throw. Matt Williams doubled him home with the winning run as Summit finally prevailed.

5/6 - Weequahic - Won Matt Williams twirled a 4 hitter in the victory
and Jeff Sparrow was 3 for 3 with 6 stolen bases , 2 runs scored and an RBI
to lead the way.
