This game had plenty of excitement, but it certainly wasn't a thing of beauty. Summit jumped to a 1 run lead in the top of the 2nd inning. Livingston's bottom of the 2nd started with a walk and a hit batter. The next batter hit a double play ball, but it was booted. This was followed by a fly to center that was misjudged in the swirling wind and resulted in a triple. Things went down hill from there and before the carnage ended Livingston had an 8-1 lead. But Summit didn't give up and picked up 4 runs in the top of the 3rd. Five more were added in the 4th to put Summit up10-8. Unfortunately, Livingston tied it up in the bottom of the fifth. Three runs in their 5th put Summit ahead by 3 (13-10). However, no one in the stands felt the least bit comfortable with only a 3 run lead. In the 5th Livingston scored another run, cutting the lead to two. At the end of 5 innings Ben Wheeless had thrown 110 pitches so Emlen Fischer came on in relief. Summit threatened in both the 6th and 7th helped by three errors by the Livingston third baseman, but in the final analysis couldn't punch a run across. Livingston tied the game in 6th and scored the winning run in the 7th.

Summit had a season high 15 hits, but also had a season high 6 errors. Another season record occurred when the Summit pitchers failed to register a single strikeout.
