For two and a half innings this was actually a baseball game.
Unfortunately, when the heavy rains came half way through the
3rd inning it turned into a travesty. West Essex tried to make
outs in order to get the required 5 innings completed before the
game got called and Summit tried to avoid getting WE players out
in order to lengthen the game in hopes of a rainout. As result
the box score means almost nothing so it has been omitted. Suffice
to say that the game went down the drain in the 2nd inning when
WE scored nine runs on only three hits, four Summit errors, and
a number of bad defensive decisions. It is best not to say anything
more and to move on to the next game.
