Parsippany came into this game heavily favored and possessing
a very athletic squad that had a significant height advantage
over Summit. However, Summit gave them a terrific battle. The
1st quarter was a draw at 12-12 as Jon Campagna scored
10 of his game high 17. Unfortunately, Summit could manage only
4 points in the 2nd quarter and Parsippany built a 9 point halftime
lead (16-25). Summit came out in the 2nd half with guns blazing.
Ryan Carey hit three 3-pointers in a row and Kai Donaldson
added a fourth to knot the score at 28-28. Parsippany pulled its
act together and rebuilt the lead back to 7 entering the 4th quarter.
With 3 minutes remaining Parsippany was still holding an 8 point
lead. Field Goals by Kurt Forsyth and Campagna plus
free throws by Keyon Smith narrowed the lead to 4 with
46 seconds left on the clock. Another 3-pointer by Carey
got the Summit total to 45, but it wasn't enough.
Campagna has come on strong as a talented outside shooter,
scoring 16 or more points in 3 of the last 4 games. The return
of Donaldson to the lineup seems to have allowed Campagna
to set up on the perimeter more often.

The Summit JV squad was forced to play a tough Parsippany team
without the services of six players who had been major contributors.
Missing were Rob Messner, Lamar Freeman, Gerano
tan, Chris Jones, Dave Izard, and Ron Bigger.
Only Dan Dugan remained from the list of the team's five
leading scorers. Much of the Freshmen team was "called up"
to fill the gap. They gave it a great effort, but Parsippany
was just too much.
