Summit met Hanover Park for the fourth time this season. The two meetings in December were very close games with victories of 5 and 4 points. When Summit faced them in February the margin of victory grew to 28 points. Tonight's win was by 31 points, showing how far this Summit squad has come since the season began. Summit started the same five that brought them victory in the UCT tournament, but late in the 1st quarter Stephanie Bruce made her first appearance since mid-February when she went down in the second quarter of the West Essex game. She seemed to be back in mid season form, much to the delight of the fans.

What can you say about a game where Summit scores 41 first half points against the 4th best team in the Iron Hills Conference? It is worth noting that this was the most points scored in a half by Summit this entire season. It was a game where everyone contributed on both offense and defense. Marissa Kellogg again led the Summit scoring with 18 points, followed closely by Danielle Proper with 15. Proper has developed into a very reliable "closer" on fast breaks. It is a pleasure to watch. Summit continued its fine free throw shooting by hitting 9 straight and finishing 10 out of 11. If you remember, they went 6 for 7 against Elizabeth. So far, for the UCT and State Tournament they have hit 42 out of 53 attempts for a great 80% team percentage.

Summit will host the Sectional Semi-Final game at 7PM on Saturday.
