Even without the services of their two highest scorers (Marrisa Kellogg was sick and Stephanie Bruce was benched, Kellogg and Bruce have combined for an average of 24 points/game) Summit dominated West Essex in the first half. Summit ended the half with a 27-8 lead. However, West Essex came back with a vengence in the second half, outscoring Summit 28-18. In the process they showed Summit's susceptibility to a pressing defense as there were numerous 3rd quarter turnovers when WE turned up the heat.
With the absence of Summit's two leading scorers Danielle Proper stepped up her game and set a season high single game scoring record with 21 points.
